Simsbury Bridge Lottery, Connecticut. 1781. Very Fine.
There were a number of signers of these indented tickets, including Noah Phelps, Dudley Pettibone, Jonathan Pettibone, Humphrey, and the signer of this example, Lemuel Roberts. Phelps and others petitioned the Assembly stating that it was difficult to sell the tickets within the time allotted and requested that an extension of one year be granted. Winners were reported in the Connecticut Journal. Printed on laid paper, this ticket was from the bottom right corner of the sheet and has wide margins at right and on the bottom. The ticket is numbered 832. Pinholes and a bottom edge tear are observed.
