Connecticut October 10, 1771 5s Slash Cancel PCGS Apparent Very Fine 25.
This 1771 Connecticut issue is a much scarcer animal than the typical 1775-1780 notes that we encounter. PCGS notes splits and tape repair with the note being slit cancelled. It is a very well-signed and wonderfully printed example of a tough note. PCGS also notes it was contemporaneously sewn together which we feel actually gives the note a great deal of character. It has been three years since we last sold a 5 Shilling note and this one should fare quite well in today's market.
