DescriptionConnecticut June 1, 1773 2s/6d PCGS Apparent Very Fine 35. A much scarcer issue, and in fact the only example of this denomination we have handled, this uncancelled 2s/6d note is numbered 80. Although the signatures have faded, enough remains visible to discern that William Pitkin, George Wyllys and Benjamin Payne were the signers of this example. Edge splits were mentioned by PCGS. There are only two splits, about a quarter of an inch long, at the left and right of the horizontal center fold. Contemporary numeric notations in black ink are observed on the back.
Estimate: $900 - up.
