    Description

Connecticut January 2, 1775 40s PMG About Uncirculated 50. This is a seldom seen and far scarcer uncancelled Connecticut issue. We have handled only a few of these notes over the years. The text and design elements are bold and clear on this well-printed note. The 40 shillings notes were the highest of the five denominations that were part of this issue. Elisha Williams, Thomas Seymour, and Benjamin Payne were the signers on this example. Timothy Green was the printer. PMG mentioned a split. A few pinholes are observed as well.
