    Description

    Exchange Bank of Yarmouth

Yarmouth, NS- Exchange Bank of Yarmouth $20 Aug. 1, 1869 Ch. # 260-10-18P Front Proof.
The first time for us to offer any type of note on this bank that was opened from 1867-1903. No issued notes are known on this ABNCo printed Charlton number. This example grades PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ and is encapsulated with a May 1869 dated memo from the Exchange Bank of Yarmouth to the ABNCo of New York ordering a four note steel plate and 2,500 impressions of the $20 denomination with a date of "Aug. 1, 1869." The memo is not graded. This lot is a great look into the dealings between a bank and a security printer.
