    Unique in Private Hands

Victoria, BC- Bank of British Columbia $10 Jan. 1, 1894 Ch. # 50-16-04
The first issued note we have auctioned from this rare bank that has for almost all of its notes one of three different comments in the Charlton reference: "no known issued notes," "institutional collection only," and "rare." The Canadian Paper Money Society Note Registry 2013 list a mere two notes of this denomination and issue for this bank: one in the National Currency Collection and the other in another institutional collection. This previously unreported note with serial number 14594-D grades PMG Very Good 8 Net, with edge damage and worth whatever it takes to bring it home.
