Scarce 1814 $1 Army BillQuebec, LC- $1/5s/1 Piastre Army Bill March 1814
An issued example of this note with a faded serial number that is barely readable, while the signature has completely faded. It is still a rare note that is of the lowest denomination of the Third Issue. It is listed as "very rare" in Charlton with an estimate of $9000 to $18,000. We have previously only auctioned two examples of all issues of this class of note. This military note saw extensive circulation during the War of 1812, as it was backed by the Crown and redemption could be made in London. The net grade is for repairs, and the foreign substance appears to be an adhesive. PMG Very Good 10 Net.
Estimate: $4,500 - $6,500.
