    Description

Montreal, PQ- The Bank of Montreal $4 Feb. 6, 1871 Ch. # 505-34-02
In addition to being an odd-denomination, it was also the lowest denomination from that issue of 1871. Tom Flynn's Canadian offering including an example of this popular $4 Charlton number. That piece, also a VG had no trouble reaching the $2760 mark. The paper is original and free of repairs that might otherwise be seen on a note of this rarity. With no other offerings since the Flynn example sold in 2008, we see no reason why this piece cannot meet or exceed the price set in that auction.
    PMG Very Good 8.
