Montreal, PQ- Banks of the St. Lawrence (Grand Trunk Railway) Ad Note circa 1860sThis attractive advertising note plays on the word "Banks" and also advertises the Victoria Bridge and both sides of the Canadian/United States border. The bridge was named for Queen Victoria and was completed in December 1859. At that time it was the longest bridge in the world. The back of the note is printed in red and includes a list of first class hotels, statistics about the bridge, and places of interest. "GTR" is found under the facsimile signatures and "G.T. Railway" is found on the back leading one to believe that the issuer of this note was the famed Grand Trunk Railway that operated in Canada and New England. Choice Crisp Uncirculated.
