Description

Montreal, PQ- Banks of the St. Lawrence (Grand Trunk Railway) Ad Note circa 1860s
This is a great advertising note that plays on the word "Banks" and also advertises the Victoria Bridge and both sides of the Canadian/United States border. This bridge was named for Queen Victoria and completed in December 1859. At that time it was the longest bridge in the world. "GTR" is found under the facsimile signatures and "G.T. Railway" is found on the back leading one to believe that the issuer of this note was the famed Grand Trunk Railway that operated in Canada and New England. Choice Crisp Uncirculated.
