Hudson's Bay Company Manitoba, Rupert's Land York Factory £1 Sterling 1.6.1857/20.10.1857 Ch. # MB10-10-06i-i.The Hudson's Bay Company is the oldest and largest company in Canadian history. HBC covered nearly 3,000,000 square miles at its height as it was at the forefront of the exploration of northern and western Canada. Paper money reminders of this great company are scarce. York Factory was HBC's sprawling trading complex located on Hudson Bay. Pages 15-17 of Canadian Merchant Scrip provides more information. This example has several small internal tears and an approximate half inch right edge tear. Very Good-Fine.
