Description

Halifax, NS- Bank of Nova Scotia $20 Feb. 1, 1918 Charlton Unlisted (550-28-16p) Face Proof
This face Proof is unlisted in Charlton. We have offered two examples of issued notes of this design in the past. In September 2006, a VF+ note brought $1150 and in April 2008, we saw a VF piece go for $1840. This Proof has been framed (16 by 12 inches and titled, "Bank of Nova Scotia $1919 - $20 Approved Model" ) and matted. It has paste-up "000000" serial numbers, location, and date. The surrounding backing has approval comments such as, "Alter Die as marked" and "Engraved Date a little larger." Plus initials of the people who signed off on it. A great item for the Canadian collector. This Proof is not graded since it is framed. There will be no returns on this lot for any reason.
