    Description

Grand River, NL- Grand River Pulp & Lumber Co. $5 ND (ca. 1900) Ch. # NL30-10-06 Two examples.
Charlton does list the dollar denominated scrip, with this $5 being the largest denomination. Printed in green ink on cream colored paper, it shares the common lumber cutting scene in the central vignette on. The company was owned by Nova Scotian investors and it is believed this scrip, printed by T.C. Allen & Co. Stationers Printers etc. Halifax, was issued to the company's workers in the early 1900's. The scrip was redeemable in "goods or currency." The two examples grade PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. (Total: 2 notes)
