Description

    DC-17b $4 1902
An evenly circulated example of the final Dominion $4 issue, produced in a great hurry between June and September of 1911 to alleviate a shortage of paper currency. When the shortage abated, production of these notes ceased, and, with the introduction of the $5 denomination in 1912, the $4 denomination became redundant and the notes were withdrawn from circulation by the Department of Finance. PMG Fine 12.
