    The final Dominion $4 issue, produced in a great hurry between June and September 1911 to alleviate a shortage of paper money. When the shortage abated, production of these notes ceased, and, with the introduction of the $5 denomination in 1912, the $4 denomination was eliminated and the notes were withdrawn from circulation by the Department of Finance.
