    Description

Buffalo, NY (Montreal)- The Banks of the St. Lawrence 20; 50; 100; 500 Views Ad Note circa 1860's
These are great advertising notes that play on the word "Banks" and they also advertise the Victoria Bridge, Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Toronto, Quebec, and Montreal. The bridge was named for Queen Victoria and completed in December 1859. At that time it was the longest bridge in the world. "GTR" is found under the facsimile signatures and "G.T. Railway" is found on the back leading one to believe that the issuer of this note was the famed Grand Trunk Railway that operated in Canada and New England. The 50 views note has staining in the upper left corner. Choice About Uncirculated or better. (Total: 4 notes)
