Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ Replacement Thousand

    BC-61aA $1000 1988
Although the production of thousands was never high, the Bank of Canada elected to produce replacement examples for the first time in the 1988 series. Relatively few were produced, and printing of replacements ceased when the new Bonin-Thiessen notes were introduced in 1994. Few of these replacements were saved by collectors, and, in contrast to the regular issue thousands, high grade specimens are quite rare. Of the 17 pieces PMG has certified to date, only five grade above CU 60, with only three notes reaching the level of this example. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ, a stellar example fit for the finest of collections.
