With 464 bidders participating, 221 were successful. 30 lots were purchased after-auction by 24 bidders, for a total of $9,363.00.
Every single-item lot includes full-color enlargeable images of the obverse and reverse, to help bidders determine their bids with confidence.
Below are some of the highlights from the October 15 CurrencyAuction.com sale:
Fr. 281 $5 1899 Silver Certificate Very Choice Crisp Uncirculated.
This lovely Indian Chief has all the attributes of a top-grade example, and falls just short of the Gem designation due to a slightly slim bottom face margin. The eye appeal is superb, and the colors and brightness are second to none. A lovely type note that will appeal to many bidders. Realized 3,105.00
Fr. 268 $5 1896 Silver Certificate Very Fine-Extremely Fine.
Always a popular type, especially in more affordable mid-grade circulated grades. This beautiful design is enhanced on this note by extraordinarily broad margins, and the colors are solid for the grade. A lovely type note that will please any collector looking for an example at this grade level. Realized $2,875.00
Fr. 816 $10 1915 Federal Reserve Bank Note CGA Extremely Fine 45.
A pretty, fully bright example of this rare type, with just a couple of light folds that define the grade. Any example of this type should appeal to type collectors who recognize the scarcity of this design, especially a pretty, lightly circulated note with excellent eye appeal. The census records less than thirty examples of this number, and no number in this series is common. Realized $2,875.00
CurrencyAuction.com sales close (and a new sale begins) at 10pm CT on the 15th and 30th day of every month. The complete prices realized along with full-color images of every coin in this sale, and all other Heritage auctions, are available at no charge to Heritage Coin members in the Permanent Auction Archives (membership is totally free).
