Description

One of Just Two Known Dallas $5 FRBN Replacements

Fr. 1850-K* $5 1929 Federal Reserve Bank Star Note. PMG Very Fine 25.
This $5 star from the Dallas district is one of the highlights of tonight's sale. It is one of just two pieces of its kind known, a census number that has not changed in well over a decade. Both known Dallas stars are about equal in grade, with the other reported piece in a PMG Very Fine 25 EPQ holder. However, side by side, in the opinion of your cataloger, the two notes look identical. That other piece recently sold for $13,200 in our FUN auction and now the disappointed underbidders have another chance at this small size FRBN rarity.
