Description

Comment-Free PMG VF 25 $100 1891 Silver

Fr. 344 $100 1891 Silver Certificate PMG Very Fine 25.
A $100 Silver bought privately by our consignor in 1994. Track & Price enumerates a total of 31 serial numbers, but that is not the true number available to the collecting community as a half a dozen are in the possession of the Smithsonian Institution, the Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago, San Francisco (2), and the Baltimore Branch of the Richmond FRB (2). We last auctioned a Fr. 344 in April 2021. It graded PCGS Banknote VF 25 with a minor edge tear and minor ink bleed through. It fetched $26,400 in November 2020. The example that we offer tonight is a nicely margined note in a comment-free third party holder. Therefore, this exciting example should attract many collectors' attention.
