Reedley, CA - $20 1902 Plain Back Fr. 652 The First National
Bank Ch. # (P)8857 PMG Very Fine 20.This is another unique California note that we are pleased to offer this evening's session. It is the only note known from this short-lived Fresno County issuer that was only in business from 1907 until its liquidation in 1921. Crossing the auction block for the first time, it is a crisp, moderately circulated $20 Plain Back with even wear and the bold pen signature of the bank's cashier. Unique notes are always difficult to estimate, but, based upon the realizations of other unique California trophy notes in recent years, this rare California National will most likely crack the five-figure mark.
