Excessively Rare Gridley Note - One of Two Known
Gridley, CA - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 632 The First National
Bank Ch. # (P)11164 PMG Very Fine 20.This great note comes from the sole issuer in this remote Butte County hamlet, which was in business for less than three years before closing its doors in January of 1921. It is one of just two notes reported from this excessively rare charter and has been in the hands of our consignor since he acquired it out of The Philip Krakover Collection in 1990. It has a few flaws, including a missing corner and a stain which are mentioned on the holder, but it retains nice color for the grade. It presents an opportunity for one lucky collector to acquire a more than acceptable example from this very rare bank.
