Description

Canyon, TX - $5 1929 Ty. 2 The First NB Ch. # 14090
This institution, the successor to the failed First NB of Canyon, issued fewer notes than most any other bank in Texas, with a total emission of only 260 sheets of both five and ten dollar bills. By happenstance (or perhaps due to Colonel Blake's efforts), both serial number one sheets were saved, with both being cut within the past decade. This lovely note is the bottom note from the first sheet of fives, and gives both Texas collectors and those interested in 14000 charters the opportunity to add one of these notes to their holdings. Choice Crisp Uncirculated.
