Description

Utica, NY- John Buswell 3¢ Jan. 1863 Harris H120 Very Good-Fine.
Buswell was a liquor merchant whose business was located at 93 Genesee Street in Utica. What makes this scrip unusual is that it was only redeemable in Postage Currency which was in circulation when this note was issued. The note has a very minor paper scuff on the back and a few inconsequential internal paper splits. There is an approximate quarter inch bottom edge tear.
