Tied for Finest Known T41 $100 Treasury Note
T41 $100 1862 PF-12 Cr. 317A PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ.The three Augusta IP stamps on the back of this pristine condition note offer an explanation for its exquisite state of preservation. The note likely never left a bank vault or wealthy person's strong box, being held either as part of a bank's cash reserves or as an investment due to its relatively high 7.30% interest rate. Of the 3,589 T41s graded by PMG, this note (along with six others) shares the "top pop" position at present.
