Monroe, LA- Vicksburg, Shreveport and Texas Railroad Company $5 Jan. 13, 1862 Fine;
New Orleans, LA- Bank of Louisiana $2 Apr. 19, 1861 Very Good-Fine;
Shreveport, LA- State of Louisiana $100 Mar. 10, 1863 Extremely Fine.
The Bank of Louisiana $2 is boldly stamped twice in red: "REDEEMABLE / In Confederate Notes". When New Orleans fell just over a year later, this practice was forbidden by the Union military governor. The $100 State of Louisiana note depicts a state capitol building that never went beyond the proposal stage. There is a bit of ink erosion in the Auditor signer's signature. (Total: 5 notes)
