Anthony, RI - $5 1875 Fr. 402 The Coventry National Bank Ch. #
1161 PMG Very Fine 25.This great Rhode Island rarity is one of only five notes reported from this tough one-bank location but, more importantly, it is the only note from here to make a public appearance in over 20 years. The Coventry National was a First Charter-only affair that liquidated in 1885. This is a very attractive note that features bright paper, excellent color, and dark pen signatures. PMG mentions a minor repair, but any such repair is of no consequence when considering the rarity and desirability of this pretty 1875 $5.
