Description
South Carolina December 23, 1776 $8 PMG About Uncirculated 50.A well margined note featuring a boldly printed emblem of a sailing ship along with the motto, MULTORUM SPES, "the hope of many." Three of the four signatures remain clearly visible. The signers were Edward Lightwood, James Fisher, and William Price. PMG mentioned the pen annotation, "Jacob Whiteman," that is seen in black ink along one of the margins on the back of the note. A very nice example.
