Serial Number 1 Curacao Curacaosche Bank 5 Gulden 1918 Pick Unlisted PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.
The gigantic and extremely rare 1918 5 Gulden is first denomination of the series printed in grand format. A mere 30,000 of these notes were printed, and all but a scant few are extant. We have not offered this type in the past, and there are no traceable auction records for this type as well. Lastly, this is the very first fully issued note of this date, as evidenced by the 00001 serial number. Uncirculated paper is an added bonus for a note that is exemplary in every way. Although attributed as "Unlisted" by PMG, the 15th Edition of The Standard Catalog of World Paper Money: General Issues describes both the 1918 and 1920 dated notes as Pick 7E. Of the highest degree of rarity and an incredibly important banknote in Uncirculated grade featuring Serial Number 1.
