During the final year of World War II, three banknotes bearing classic French themes were prepared for issue in Algeria. The 100 and 500 Francs share the same design, with the 1000 Francs, offered here, bearing unique designs. None of the notes of this short series were officially issued, and only a few examples escaped destruction. This handsome example is original and Uncirculated, with just a few corner tears mentioned for accuracy. Only the second example of this extremely rare design we have had the privilege to offer.
