Fr. 2221-K $5,000 1934 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.
A mere 2,400 $5,000s were printed for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. All of the 1934 Dallas $5,000s feature the attractive lime green overprint. The piece in this lot with serial number K00000043A is one of a small grouping of well preserved examples from the Dallas district. All survivors have a two or three digit serial number. PMG has graded only six small size $5,000s higher and each of those were graded just a single grade point higher. Tonight provides a rare opportunity to secure a high grade and completely original example of this highly desirable denomination. The last time we offered a 1934 $5,000 in PMG 64 EPQ was in January 2025 and that Fr. 2221-H realized $312,000. We fully expect our current Big D offering to make a serious run at that figure.
