Among the oldest and earliest paper currency in the world. The Yuan Dynasty reigned for nearly a century during the 13th and 14th centuries. This gigantic and imposing paper note is extremely rare and sought after by collectors and historians today. The two rows of stringed coinage indicates the 2 Kuan denomination of this note. Despite being approximately 750 years old, this note still retains most printed details on the front and some details on the back. The mulberry paper and charcoal ink used on this note was a testament to ingenuity in the Middle Ages. Restoration and margin stains are mentioned for accuracy. This incredibly early type note is not found in the Standard nor Specialized Catalog.
