A $5 Legal Back Proof printed on India paper and mounted on cardstock. It is listed on page 40 of U.S. Essay, Proof, and Specimen Notes by Gene Hessler. This back design was in use for over 50 years, from Series 1875 to the introduction of small size paper money in 1929. This example was once paired with a Series 1875 Face Proof according to Hessler and therefore the Friedberg numbers could be trimmed down to Fr. 31-35.
