Brigadier General James B. McPherson, who was the second highest ranking Union Officer to be killed in action (at the Battle of Atlanta in 1864) during the Civil War, was chosen to appear on this note. The note is boldly printed on good paper with bold colors and decent margins. The large brown spiked Treasury seal and intricately engraved green back lend to this note's attractive appearance. PMG mentions some pinholes and minor rust which are not overly distracting.
