Skip changeover pairs, where two series are skipped as in this lot, are truly rare as the tenth edition of Standard Guide to Small-Size U.S. Paper Money by John Schwartz and Scott Lindquist list very few examples of this particular type of changeover pair in their Appendix II on pages 362-79. In fact, they cite only two examples of the $1 Silver 1928B/1928E skip changeover pair. The skip changeover pair in this lot with serial number I26386620B for the 1928B $1 and serial I26386621B for the 1928E is previously unreported. This skip changeover pair contains a Series 1928E example which is the key to the $1 Silvers. Both notes have earned the same third party grade with the PPQ grade modifier. Our examination finds that both notes exhibit not only paper originality, but near-identical handling. In summary, this is a great lot for a serious collector of small size notes. (Total: 2 notes)
