A great note from an excessively rare Maine bank and one of just four small size (along with three large) reported from this charter. This was the only note-issuing bank that operated in this remote mountain locale. It had just $9,900 outstanding in both large and small size in 1935. This is a pleasing, well margined example with even wear and solid paper. It is identical in grade to another Type 1 $10 from here that brought $6,000 in our 2023 FUN auction.
