Sam Spiegel is Chief Operating Officer and Technology Principal at Heritage Auctions, where he oversees daily operations across all business units and leads the company’s long-term technology strategy. In this role, he focuses on aligning operations, scaling infrastructure and enhancing the digital platforms that support Heritage’s global growth and client experience.

Sam began as an intern at Heritage in 2012 in the World & Ancient Coin department, joining full time in 2013 after graduating from the University of Chicago with degrees in Classics and History. Over the course of his career, he has played a key role in advancing operational efficiency, strengthening cross-departmental collaboration and driving technological innovation across the company.

Prior to his current role, Sam was deeply involved in market research, data analysis, catalog production and client development, working closely with many of the category’s top bidders and consignors. He also collaborated extensively with Heritage’s international offices and represented the company at trade shows worldwide, helping expand its global presence.

Sam has played a key role in advancing Heritage’s digital capabilities, introducing tools that bring greater transparency and context to the auction process, including the integration of comparable auction results and third-party grading census data into online lot pages. He continues to leverage data and technology to improve decision-making, streamline operations and strengthen the overall client experience.
