Puerto Rico El Banco Espanol de Puerto Rico 5 Pesos ND Pick 14
A Series B example printed by the American Bank Note Co. in black ink on a brown and yellow underprint. A lamb, Puerto Rico's official emblem, is depicted at left holding a cross with a flag. A seated child writing notes is portrayed at right. The bank was created via royal decree on May 5, 1888 and received a charter valid for 25 years. The bank was not actually established until 1890, with the office located in San Juan. Four years later a branch was added in Mayaguez. Rare and unpriced in Pick, as are all issues from this bank. PCGS Very Fine 20 with two very small punch cancels observed.
