Reserve (If Any) Not Posted Yet:
Although many lots will not get reserves, this signifies that we have not yet posted any reserves to this entire auction. Reserves are usually posted approximately 3 days prior to the closing for Internet-only auctions, and approximately 7 days prior to the live session for Signature auctions.
Consignor Has Not Yet Submitted a Reserve:
Although the consignor's agreement allows a reserve on this lot, the deadline for submitting such a reserve has elapsed. If consignor submits a reserve post-deadline and the item fails to meet that reserve, we may charge the consignor a higher reserve fee.
No Reserve:
This lot is being sold without a consignor reserve.

First Ever Public Offering
Fr. 1080a $100 1914 Red Seal Federal Reserve Note PMG Very Good 10 NET. This Minneapolis Red Seal Hundred is incredibly rare, with only three pieces, including this one, listed in the Track & Price census. One of those three is permanently impounded in the Smithsonian. Fr. 1080a is one of the very few Federal Notes that has never been offered at public auction. This 1080a is the only one of the three to have been graded by any service. The Smithsonian note is reported to be XF, with both this note and the third example, the whereabouts of which we do not know, about the same grade. While this piece faces up quite well for a VG, it does have a professionally masked-out stain and a rebuilt upper-left corner tip that affects nothing but blank paper.
