Description:

Superb Rainbow Twenty - PMG 67 EPQ

Fr. 127 $20 1869 Legal Tender PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ. This Rainbow Twenty is an extremely popular type as it well deserves to be, as it is one of the most attractive notes (in this cataloger's opinion) that this country has produced. This particular example is as nice as any we have ever seen or handled. The margins are huge and even, the inks 100% fully bright and the Rainbow colors display as well as they ever possibly could. The two major grading services have graded 46 Fr. 127's, with only four of them reaching this level, and none higher. No 67 has reached the auction market yet. In September of 2006, we sold a PMG 66 for $25,300, and in January of this year, we sold a PMG 64 for $27,600. This note, which is a full three points higher, will leave that price far behind. On top of all its obvious qualities, the note has also received the two highly positive PMG comments, "Exceptional Paper Quality," as well as "Great Margins."
From The Thomas M. Flynn Collection Estimate: $50,000 - up.
