Description:

Gem Binion Note

Fr. 2231-B $10000 1934 Federal Reserve Note. CGA Gem Uncirculated 65.
We are pleased to offer another eye appealing $10000 from the storied display in Ted Binion's Horseshoe Casino. The Las Vegas display included a staggering 100 $10000 notes in a man-sized horseshoe frame. The display was likely a perfect tool to entice gamblers with visions of immense wealth and a fortune was only a few dollars away at any one of the Horseshoe's tables or slots. Were it not for Binion's display, only about half the number of known $10000s would be available for collectors. As it stands, the approximate 200 or so known survivors are far too few to satisfy collector demand, pushing prices higher with each given auction appearance. This piece exhibits perfectly even margins side to side and top to bottom which perfectly frame the boldly printed devices. Two expertly closed pinholes are camouflaged by the ornate design details. Most Binion notes show some minor restorations, a non-issue for these notes as most of their collector appeal comes from their famed history.
