Brandon, MS- Mississippi & Alabama Rail Road Company $25 Jan. 2, 1837Odd denominations such as this $25 note were only issued by a few entities during the Obsolete era. Portraits of Lafayette, Fulton, Franklin, and Washington appear at the corners. The central vignette includes seated images of Agriculture, Commerce, and Navigation. There are also vignettes of an early train. Fine with folds and small tears at the margins. A contemporary repair using backing that appears to be a portion of a lottery ticket is observed on the back.
