Description
T64 $500 1864.These Confederate $500 notes include a vignette of Washington on horseback along with a Confederate flag and gear that would have been carried by the soldiers. DEO VINDICE translates as God vindicates. Representations of Washington on horseback also appeared on Civil War tokens in the North. Stonewall Jackson was the only Confederate General to appear on Confederate paper money. This was only the second $500 note issued. PMG Very Fine 25.
