Description

Angelica, NY - $5 1875 Fr. 401 The First NB Ch. # 564
An extremely rare Allegheny County bank which was the town's sole issuer before lapsing into receivership in 1886, leaving only $2,041 outstanding by 1916. The new Kelly census records only five pieces known from here, all First Charters, three of which (including the pair we sold in the Sabis Collection) are in extremely strong hands and are unlikely to be available to the balance of the collecting fraternity for the foreseeable future. Pleasing Fine-Very Fine, with a few stray pinholes noted in the interest of full disclosure.
