Description

Fr. 6? 7? 8? $10 1861 Demand Note Fine, Damaged. An interesting note, which likely started life as a New York, Philadelphia or Boston Demand Note. The identifying block at the lower left corner has been cut from what we can only presume to have been a badly damaged $10 Cincinnati Demand Note and glued down in the lower left corner of this note. In an attempt to disguise the work, a piece of yet a third $10 Demand Note was pasted to the back as a cover up. The work is relatively crude and rather easily detectable. The end result is that we have not an extremely rare Cincinnati Ten, but rather a damaged Demand Note that faces up rather nicely and appears to be a Cincinnati Ten if you squint and look quickly. The value is difficult to assess, be we expect that someone will want this for about . . .
