Serial Number One Dallas $10 1914 Red Seal
Fr. 902a $10 1914 Red Seal Federal Reserve Note PCGS Extremely Fine 45PPQ.A beautiful serial number 1 example from the Dallas district. Only two $10 serial number 1 specimens were reported prior to the discovery of the pair we are offering tonight, with only one, the number 1 from the New York district, in private hands. That example has not been seen since its last appearance in 1998. The Chicago district number 1 is in the hands of the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank. The Dallas number one note offered here tonight has never seen the light of day since it was obtained by the San Francisco Federal Reserve official from his Dallas compatriot in 1914. Like the Kansas City number 1 Red Seal offered above, it clearly has never circulated, but was folded for storage. The colors, margins, and overall appearance are as sharp as the day it was produced, with PCGS awarding this note its coveted Premium Paper Quality designation.
