Description

Excessively Rare 1934A $5 Hawaii Star

Fr. 2302* $5 1934A Hawaii Federal Reserve Note. Extremely Fine-About Uncirculated.
This is one of the great star note rarities in any grade, with this piece the nicest that our consignor could obtain in several years of searching. It appears uncirculated at first glance, but close examination shows it has had a few light folds deftly removed to make it appear new. The Oakes catalogue values this star at $6500 in VF and $17,500 in CU, and this example will likely see bidding end right in the middle of that range tonight.
