Description
Unique & Newly Discovered 1928 Dallas $5000-One of 360 Printed
Fr. 2220-K $5000 1928 Federal Reserve Note. Apparent PCGS Fine 15.This piece was destined for redemption, but fortunately an astute banker knew that this $5000 note was far more important than a simple ledger entry. As a result, it represents the only opportunity for a Dallas specialist to acquire a 1928 $5000 from their favorite district. Without it, we may have never seen an example. A mere 360 1928 $5000 notes were printed for distribution through the Dallas Federal Reserve, the lowest number by far, halving even that of the number released in Kansas City (which is also unique). Despite having some frayed edges, which are noted by PCGS, the paper is wholesome internally and the design elements remain strong. Unique notes are almost always worth six figures and we would not be surprised by a six figure result here this evening.
