Description

Attractive 1922 Five Hundred Dollar Gold

Fr. 1217 $500 1922 Gold Certificate PMG Very Fine 20 NET. An even fifty notes are reported for this Friedberg number, which includes Tom's example. Not a single one of them is reported as uncirculated. PMG has noted, "Margin Repair," but that repair is a minor masked stain at the left end of the top margin, and certainly not meaningful enough for the net grade. To our eye, this piece is a solid VF. The colors, including the orange of the back, have held up beautifully. All high-denomination Gold Certificates are extremely popular, and this note should provoke heavy bidder competition.
