Fr. 1193 1882 Fifty Dollar Gold - PCGS Very Choice New 64
Fr. 1193 $50 1882 Gold Certificate PCGS Very Choice New 64. PCGS has graded only two uncirculated examples of this number: this 64 and a single 66. This 64 has huge margins, 100% fully bright colors of the inks and paper and the eye appeal of a Superb Gem. 99 examples of this Friedberg number are listed in the Track & Price census, but only six of those 99 grade uncirculated, and only one of those six has been certified. This note was acquired recently enough by Tom that it is in the census as one of those five uncertified uncirculated notes. 1193's will always remain rare in top grade. There are only three Track & Price auction records for uncirculated pieces, and all three are the same note. This note will be only the second uncirculated 1193 to appear at auction in modern times.
